Vocational Learning

Vocational learning helps all secondary students explore the world of work, identify career options and pathways, and build career development skills. Vocational learning is delivered across all elements of a planned program of learning.

The Vocational Learning in Tasmanian Schools Framework was endorsed by the Years 9 to 12 Project Steering Committee in February 2021.

Consultation on this and associated documents was undertaken with schools, as well as education, training and industry stakeholders, throughout 2020.

Supporting resources and professional learning to assist with implementation are being developed and will be provided to schools.

The Framework provides clarity around vocational learning, and the different areas within vocational learning in Tasmanian schools.

Please note that minor updates may be made to this document on an ongoing basis, so please use the link above to ensure you are accessing the most up to date version.

Significant updates will be communicated via regular sector communications.

The School and Industry Partnerships Framework, also endorsed by the Years 9 to 12 Project Steering Committee in February 2021, provides guidance for employers and industry on how to effectively engage with schools and students.
