Phase 2 – Consultation – Overview and Key Features

Another opportunity for teachers and schools to give feedback and be involved in the course development process.

Courses in the first stage of course redevelopment (Tranche 1) have been prioritised in consideration of the aims of the Years 9 to 12 Project and will be developed in line with the Years 9 to 12 Curriculum Framework and the Senior Secondary Accreditation Framework.

The Overview and Key Features papers represent the second of four course consultation opportunities for teachers to engage in the course development process for courses proposed in Tranche 1. The purpose of these papers is to provide information regarding the overview and key features of these proposed courses.

This information includes the:

• Rationale
• Existing pathways
• Learning Outcomes
• Course Structure
• Course Delivery
• Module Content
• Relationship to possible Future Provision

The papers are designed to enable all interested stakeholders to reflect and provide initial feedback on the rationale and relationships for these courses.

Additionally in consideration of the information provided in this paper we are seeking your suggestions for the core concepts, big ideas, essential learning or important considerations you would like to see included in this proposed course. Feedback on the information provided in the Overview and Key Features closed on the 11th of December 2020. 

Ongoing development of these courses will be undertaken by Years 9 to 12 Learning, in line with the Curriculum Framework and Accreditation Framework.

Course proposals are currently pending advice from the Office of Tasmanian Assessment, Standards and Certification in line with the Accreditation Framework.
